Eric Clapton Tickets
Most rock musicians have a career that’s akin to a shooting star. It’s bright and attention-grabbing but fades out and disappears almost as quickly as it appeared in the sky. However, Eric Clapton is the exception to that. His career has been like the sun, burning bright year after year, as if it’ll be around forever. Clapton has been around since the early 1960s and is still touring and performing well into his 70s. As the only person who’s been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times, Clapton is arguably the most accomplished figure in music history. Plus, after all of these years, he still knows how to entertain his audience with a virtually endless catalog of classic songs.
Master of the Six Strings
Musical genres aside, Clapton is objectively considered one of the best guitar players of all time. It certainly helps that he’s been a part of several bands and been the driving force in many of them. Clapton was influenced early in his life by blues music, with his first band being an R&B act. His unparalleled talent on guitar was instrumental in the success of both the Yardbirds and Cream. Clapton also lent his talents to John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers and founded the Yardbirds. He’s also well-known for his collaboration with friend and former Beatle George Harrison.
Best on His Own
Despite being one of the most influential musicians of his generation and an integral part of several prominent bands, Clapton’s best work has arguably been formed as a solo artist. His first solo hit, “Layla,” turned out to be just the beginning of an incredible solo career that has survived the test of time. Clapton’s “Tears in Heaven” is one of the most emotional and heart-breaking songs ever recorded.
Still Special
Over the years, Clapton has continued to churn out hits while also showing the versatility and musical ability to collaborate with artists of various genres. He’s talented enough to blend his sound with any willing partner and create something. Therein lies the beauty of seeing Clapton live, even in the twilight of his career. After more than half a century in the industry, there is no shortage of songs that Clapton can perform, and you never know who’s going to show up and join him on stage.
