The Mick
UCLA began a new era in 2019, after hiring Mick Cronin following an ugly end to Alford’s tenure. At the time, Cronin was the most successful college basketball coach in the country under the age of 50. In his first season at UCLA, he led the Bruins to a second-place finish in the Pac-12 and won Pac-12 Coach of the Year honors, setting the stage for another great era of UCLA basketball.

Since 1965, the Bruins have played their home games at Pauley Pavilion, which is located in the heart of the UCLA campus in Los Angeles. The court at Pauley Pavilion is called Nell and John Wooden Court after UCLA’s longtime head coach John Wooden and his wife Nell. Despite its age, the arena underwent a substantial renovation between 2010 and 2012 to update the facilities. That renovation also increased the capacity at Pauley Pavilion to 13,800 fans.
